Basements and Underground Structures
To provide a dry environment, any structure built below ground level will require waterproofing. Choosing the most appropriate waterproofing system will depend on a number of factors including:
- Newbuild or refurbishment
- Depth below ground level
- Construction type / material
- Soil type
- Proposed end use
- Soil contaminants / ground gasses
Our technical department are able to provide information on the most appropriate waterproofing system for a given project. On larger projects, site visits can be arranged.
This website provides further information about waterproofing the following types of underground structures:
Even where underground structures have been built using expensive waterproof concrete to BS8007, consideration will still need to be given to the waterproofing of construction joints.
