110 PROPRIETARY MORTAR

Vandex BB75

Vandex BB75 is a cementitious, ready-mixed, efflorescence-free surface waterproofer with hydrophobic properties, resistant to water and moisture. Vandex BB75 is applied to surfaces such as concrete, masonry and render, which have to be sealed and protected against the influence of water and moisture.

Vandex BB75 is waterproof (tested up to 7.0 bar). It can be employed against active and passive water pressures. Vandex BB75 is safe to use with potable water. The initial and final bonding capability of Vandex BB75 is excellent, making it suitable for application to horizontal and vertical surfaces. It is durable, resistant to frost and heat setting, and permeable to vapour. Vandex BB75 is not a decorative material. Consult Safeguard Europe Ltd technical literature for details. Substrate:

Sound stable surfaces.

Preparation:

The substrate to be sealed must be firm and relatively even, and it’s surface free from voids, gaping cracks or ridges. Bitumen, oil, grease or remains of paint have to be removed by suitable means. Laitance and unsound concrete have to be removed by bush hammering or sand blasting. The substrate should be well prewatered and slightly damp at the time of application.

Thickness:

Select from: 1.5 mm (for ground moisture sealing) / 2 mm (for pressureless surface water and seepage) / 3 mm (for water under pressure)

Application:

Vandex BB75 may be applied with a masonry bush, trowel or spray equipment. Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C, or to a frozen substrate. A maximum of 4 kg/m² can be laid in one application. Provide suitable protection against extreme weather conditions whilst setting.

Finish:

Thin rough cast of sand and cement 3:1 while Vandex BB75 is still ‘green’. (in case of subsequent screeds, renders or tile fixings)

Vandex Unimortar 1

Vandex Unimortar 1 is a cementitious, ready-mixed, efflorescence-free surface waterproofing and repairing mortar with hydrophobic properties, resistant to water and moisture. Vandex Unimortar 1 is a versatile waterproofing and repairing mortar for horizontal and vertical concrete or masonry surfaces.

Vandex Unimortar is applied in layers of 6 – 12 mm thickness, in one working cycle because of its granulometry. Due to its composition, based on cement and quartz with graded grainsize distribution, and special chemical ingredients, Vandex Unimortar 1 is waterproof (tested up to 7 bar at a thickness of 10 mm). It is durable and resistant to frost after setting, and at the same time vapour permeable. Consult Safeguard Europe Ltd technical literature for details. Preparation:

Sound stable surfaces, free from voids and large cracks. Bitumen, oil, grease or remains of paint must be removed by suitable means. Dirt, soil, loose particles, form oil, cement laitance etc must be removed by bush hammering or sand blasting. The substrate must be well moistened until it gets a dull dampness at the time the coating is applied.
