Damp-Proofing and Condensation Control

Safeguard have been manufacturing products to treat dampness in floors and walls since 1983. Our comprehensive range of products includes:

Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods

Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods are patented 12 mm diameter grooved rods that carry a powerful water repellent material. They are simply inserted into 12 mm holes in the mortar lines of a building.

Once they are inserted, the rods will start to dry out the wall, the carrier rods slowly diffuse water repellent deep into the damp masonry, curing to form a powerful barrier to further damp ingress.

Dryrod provides numerous advantages over other treatment methods.

Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream

Dryzone is the result of an extensive in-house research and development programme. This involved the screening and testing of hundreds of potential formulations. These tests demonstrate that Dryzone offers a higher degree of protection against rising damp than the chemical injection systems that it was designed to replace.

Dryzone is not injected under pressure. The risk of fluid leaking into neighbouring rooms or properties and causing damage is therefore virtually eliminated. Dryzone does not contain any hydrocarbon solvents, so has very little smell.

Dampcheck Plus

Dampcheck Plus is a BBA-approved DPC fluid that is supplied ready for use. It is injected into holes drilled in masonry to form a DPC. Injection can be carried out using an electric pump or by using funnels (gravity feed method).

Dampcheck Plus is non-flammable and is silane modified – allowing for faster injection times and more thorough treatment compared with standard DPC injection fluids. Because it is solvent-free, it does not cause a lingering “solvent odour”.

Renderguard Gold

Renderguard Gold is a high-specification plaster additive that forms an integral part of the Safeguard Damp-proofing System (BBA Certificate Number 97/3363).

Drybase Liquid-Applied DPM

Drybase Liquid-Applied DPM is a single-pack barrier coating that is supplied ready to use. It is available in black or white with a consistency similar to that of thick emulsion paint. The product is applied in two coats.

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating is a two-part water-dispersed epoxy resin product consisting of a pigmented base resin component and a water-dispersed hardener component. The two parts are mixed thoroughly before use with a mechanical mixer. Once mixed, Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating can be applied by brush or lambs wool roller to provide a decorative coating which is easily cleaned.

Raincheck Plus

Raincheck Plus is a colourless water-repellent for masonry based on UV-resistant siloxanes. It can be used on old and new buildings to protect against rain penetration (penetrating damp) and to help keep masonry clean.

Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream

Stormdry is a colourless, breathable, water-repellent treatment for brick, concrete and stone walls. It is supplied in the form of a deeply penetrating cream that is applied to the wall surface using a roller or brush. Once Stormdry has been applied to the wall surface, it will permeate deeply before curing to form a water-repellent barrier.

In addition, the Oldroyd range of cavity drainage membranes and Vandex range of cementitious waterproofing products have damp-proofing applications.

We are also able to offer solutions for waterproofing underground structures and the control of condensation.
