Fastframe Drylining System
The Safeguard Fastframe drylining system is intended to compliment the Oldroyd Xv Clear cavity drainage system. It provides simple method of applying plasterboard over walls that have been waterproofed using Oldroyd Xv Clear. The Fastframe system is much faster and easier to install than the "timber batten" systems that have traditionally been used for this purpose.
Metal channels eliminate the time and frustration associated with selecting straight timber equivalents and the variety of fixings can facilitate a cavity of between 20mm and 150mm between the membrane and the plasterboard. This cavity can be used to contain services such as plumbing and electrics.
Application
The diagram below shows the Fastframe system being used in conjunction with Oldroyd Xv Clear in a typical basement refurbishment situation.
The heads of the self-sealing brick-plugs used to fix the Oldroyd Xv Clear membrane to the wall contain holes designed to accept a No 12 screw. The Fastframe system is fixed to the wall by screwing Fastframe fixing brackets into these holes. LFRD1 dryliner channels running from floor to ceiling are then fixed to these brackets at 600mm intervals along the wall. These channels are also secured to the floor and ceiling using the LFRD9 floor/ceiling track, providing additional strength. Finally, plasterboard is secured over the Fastframe system using special self-tapping Fastframe Board Screws.
