SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment

SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment is a liquid wood preservative, used for the treatment of wood in outdoor areas. Once applied, it penetrates deeply into the wood and the powerful active ingredients defend against wood-destroying and wood-discolouring fungi.

It is ideal for protecting fences, decking, sheds, furniture and wooden buildings from the effects of mould, rot and fungal attack.

Protects Wood against Mould & Rot

SoluGuard kills mould and rot and prevents future growth

Most buildings and structures that use wood as part of their construction are at risk from mould, rot and fungal attack. If left to develop, these problems can severely damage the wood, especially in the softwood that is so often found in modern constructions. If wood remains untreated for long enough, its structural integrity can become compromised.

SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment is a deeply penetrating and powerful treatment for wood that protects it from mould, rot and fungal attack. Once applied with a brush or spray, it will not only stop the growth of wood discolouring fungi but will also stop the progress of wood destroying rot. SoluGuard treated wood will be cleaner, stronger and longer lasting than untreated wood.

Proven Performance

SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment has been tested and proven to be effective against wood destroying fungi in tests to European Standards BS EN 84, BS EN 113 & BS EN 152. It is also authorised by the European Chemicals Agency legislation for use against wood-rotting fungi on softwood and wood discolouring fungi on wood in use class 2 and use class 3, which are described as follows:

  • Use Class 2: Situation in which the wood or wood-based product is under cover and not exposed to the weather (particularly rain and driven rain) but where occasional, but not persistent, wetting can occur.
  • Use Class 3: Situation in which the wood or wood-based product is above ground and exposed to the weather (particularly rain).

Ideal for Use with Roxil Wood Protection Cream

For optimal protection of softwoods, it is recommended to use SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment in combination with a surface treatment of Roxil Wood Protection Cream, which is a colourless surface water-repellent that is optimised for protecting softwoods from the effects of moisture ingress.

An initial application of SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment will protect the interior of the wood. Once the application of SoluGuard is fully complete, a surface treatment of Roxil Wood Protection Cream will stop moisture from penetrating the surface of the wood. The combined effect of SoluGuard and Roxil will protect the wood for years to come.

Ideal Primer for Other Wood Finishes

An application of SoluGuard Mould & Rot Treatment provides an excellent primer for other finishing treatments, such as paints or stains. The surface that results from the initial SoluGuard treatment will help to increase adhesion.
