Lift Pits
Lift pits normally extend below ground / slab level and, therefore, like basements are susceptible to water ingress under hydrostatic pressure.
In new-build situations, lift pits are usually waterproofed externally using the same methods employed to waterproof newbuild basements.
In refurbishment situations, the waterproofing options are more limited than those available when refurbishing basements. This is primarily because working conditions are usually very confined. Cementitious materials such as Drybase Crystalline Active Tanking Slurry and Drybase Universal Mortar are therefore usually preferred over cavity drainage systems.
Drybase Crystalline Active Tanking Slurry is a high-performance waterproofing slurry specifically designed for direct application to concrete surfaces. The active crystalline composition creates a penetrating waterproofing solution for concrete walls, floors and structures. The high coverage-per-kilogram of Drybase Crystalline Active Tanking Slurry makes it an ideal choice for tanking larger concrete structures.
