The Vandex Basement Tanking System
– A new brochure is available for the Vandex Tanking System, highlighting how the system can be used for various applications including basement waterproofing, swimming pools, damp walls, ponds, tunnels and drinking water structures.
The Vandex Tanking System comprises of three key products:
- Vandex Mineralit surface hardener
- Vandex Unimortar 1 waterproof mortar
- Vandex BB75 tanking slurry
The brochure shows how these can be combined for a typical basement waterproofing application. Vandex BB75 tanking slurry provides an effective, two coat waterproof finish, easily applied by brush or spray. The vulnerable floor/wall junction can be protected with a Unimortar 1 fillet, and the mortar can also be used to carry out any localised masonry repairs. To consolidate a dusty masonry surface the use of Vandex Mineralit is recommended. In certain cases a sand/cement render is advised before applying Vandex BB75, and where any movement is anticipated at the floor/wall junction then a flexible solution such as Vandex Construction Joint Tape and Vandex BB75 E may be advisable.
