BS EN 1504-3
Vandex Unimortar 1 is a versatile waterproofing and repair mortar for concrete and masonry (tested in accordance with BS EN 1504-3). It may be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces using a trowel. Spray application is also possible.
Typical applications for Unimortar 1 include:
Application (Tanking Slurry)
Vandex Unimortar 1 can be used as a high-build tanking slurry. In most cases, it can provide a tanking solution in a single coat (rather than two coats using Vandex BB75). For this reason is is often specified on small jobs (e.g. lift pits) as it allows the waterproofing to be carried out in a single day.
The application of Vandex Unimortar 1 in a single coat can also provide time savings on large contracts where it is typically applied using spray equipment. Please contact our technical department on 01403 210204 or submit an enquiry for further details.
Vandex Unimortar 1 is applied in layers of 6 to 12 mm thickness in one working cycle. Once cured, it is substantially resistant to abrasion and de-icing salt, and it thus able to take strong mechanical wear. It is durable and resistant to frost whilst remaining vapour-permeable.
The waterproofing properties of Vandex Unimortar 1 have been tested up to 7 bar at a layer thickness of 10 mm.
Vandex Unimortar 1 is approved as a concrete repair mortar in accordance with BS EN 1504-3. It can be used as an alternative to Vandex CRS Repair Mortar 05 or HB.
Vandex Unimortar 1 is often used to make localised repairs to masonry or to flush-point brickwork before the application of other Vandex products such as Vandex BB75 tanking slurry. Used in this way it can also improve the “primary resistance” of masonry in basement structures prior to the installation of a cavity drainage system such as Oldroyd Xv – assisting compliance with BS 8102 .

Vandex Unimortar 1 Z
Vandex Unimortar 1 Z differs from Vandex Unimortar 1 in that it has been formulated to have increased sulphate resistance. Its main area of use is the repair and coating of open channels and tanks in sewage treatment plants. Unimortar 1 Z is also commonly used in sewer / manhole refurbishment projects.
